Two other abducted civilians released, police begins investigation

Srinagar, November 17 (KNO): A youth was Saturday killed in South Kashmir's Shopian district after he was abducted by the unknown gunmen in the wee hours of this morning. The suspected militants had abducted three youth in South Kashmir's Shopian district on Saturday morning Huzaif Ashraf (19) of Manzgam Kulgam, Shahid Ganaie and Farooq Thokar of Saidapora Shopian.However, in the evening, two among the three abducted civilians were released while as one among them identified as Huzaif Ashraf, son of Mohd Ashraf alias Raja Kandur of Manzgam Kulgam was killed, whose throat slit body was recovered from village Hermain in Shopian. However, police said that the militants are involved in the killing, saying that Huzaif was killed in 'a brutal act of terror' in Shopian after he was kidnapped earlier in the day from Saidpora area of Shopian. Police said that the body of Huzaif was handed over to his family after completion of medico-legal formalities.A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in the concerned Police Station and investigation has been initiated in the matter, police said.(KNO)
